Greetings and salutations, everyone; yes, once again it is I, your popular host, Mani the purebred border collie, here today to celebrate an anniversary. You may remember me from such occasion-related posts as “A Short, Sentimental Post”, among so many, many others.
Here I am in a characteristic pose.
I guess you can probably see that it snowed again. “It snowed again” has been a recurrent phrase for a long time now.
Well, today is kind of a big day. Today marks four years since I came to this house, to live with the guy I live with, and I must say they have been four excellent years indeed. There have been some sad moments, and some agitated ones, but mostly things here have been pretty calm and really great.
So today I thought instead of just showing stuff that interests the guy I live with, I would show some different pictures, and well as a couple of usual ones, just so weirdness doesn’t creep in. Neither of us likes weirdness.
I’ll show one picture of the garden, today, with the frames open, since it was pretty warm out, even though it doesn’t look like it, much.
The rest of the pictures are things on my walks, from the last couple of days; in particular, a very brisk walk we took yesterday. Some of the pictures have me in them. Those are the best, of course. And not all of them are in color, in case you began to worry.
A dead elm tree. There are a lot of them around here.
Patterns left by melting snow falling from trees.
More patterns and wind-sculpted shapes.
Me at the sluice. The guy I live with said there was an iron wheel handle, but it disappeared some years ago. The sluice was for an old farm house which has been gone even longer than the handle.
That’s really all I have for today. Just pictures, and four years of excellence, living here.
Until next time, then.
Dead elm…. Russian or “Merican? Miss, don’t miss, icy precip…. Super pix.
Thanks. They’re Siberian elms. All dead, or mostly dead. Probably killed by the November 2014 temperature drop.
That’s a really nice picture of you in black and white with the light coming from the left. Black and white photos are more interesting sometimes.
Sorry about the snow.
Thanks. The guy I live with thought some black-and-whites might be nice. He says the snow might go away eventually.
Rather discouraging when its too cold for a plant named “Siberian…..”. Congratulations on 4 wonderful years – a good dog is such a delight.
ceci
Thanks. The guy I live with says I am pretty delightful. Back in November 2014, I hear, it was like 60F one day, and –5F two days later. It was the first temperature below freezing here, so a lot of woody plants hadn’t had time to prepare for the cold.
Happy Anniversary, Mani!
Thanks.
Happy anniversary to the both of you, and wishes for many, many more to be celebrated. We collect black-and-white photographs, and I like some of those snowy shots. If the ice patterns were glass, I would hang them over my windows. Is that the Blue Angels or some such practicing up high? I spied the shadow person, and of course your photographs are most excellent, Mani.
Thanks. The guy I live with said those are just planes, flying to maybe San Francisco and to Los Angeles.
Three jets at a time? Denver International must be REALLY busy. Is it very noisy for your delicate border collie ears, Mani?
There were really like five or six. Very common sight. I think not from DIA but farther east; these are high, high up.
Although I didn’t remember the date, I remember when the guy got you. It was very exciting. And it seemed remarkable that you weren’t black and white. Markings of tan make you most exceptional. You and the guy seem like an excellent match.
I like all the patterns of nature. They make the world go ’round.
Thanks; I agree. As for my non-black-and-whiteness, the guy I live with sat on the couch in the house where I was born, and seven adult border collies jumped up on the couch with him, all wanting cuddles, so he knew he was in the right place.
Happy Adoption day Mani. I love your snow pictures. So glad it is there and not here(-:
Thanks. The snow is sort of melting, here.
Happy 4th ‘Gotcha Day’ Mani!!! You are so blessed to have found yore Mistur. Mee betss hee iss happy hee has you too.

Thanks; I heard that there were blizzards up north. We don’t get them here very often, but when we do, look out. Mostly in spring. It is nice to see sunshine, and feel some warmth, for once. That could change, of course, but the guy I live with says you take things as they come.
I hope you do not get too much snow fore rest of seeson Mani! Wee had another storm Sunday nite til last nite. Today there iss sum Sun but oh so cold! Tomorrow more snow iss comin to us! Mee thinks wee inn Arctick! Mew mew mew…..
Well, thanks, but we are entering our snowiest time of the year. Winters here are “supposed” to be mostly warm, with very cold spells in between, but this winter has been colder than normal. March is the snowiest month of the year, here. The guy I live with can hardly wait….
EEKKK!!! Mee an LadyMew hope March iss peecefull an quiet fore both of you Mani! Weather iss so weerd. At leest wee have our Hu’manss to keep us companee!
***purrsss*** BellaDharma
Thanks; well, March is definitely coming in like a lion here. Very liony weather this weekend.
Guud luck Mani an Mistur! Hope March tippytoess inn like a lammy (lamby) fore both of you….wee goin to get more nsow too!
Thanks, but it’s not going to be. It’ll be super liony here. –15C in two days. Brrr.
BRRRRR iss rite Mani!! Hope you an yore Mistur are safe an warm inn-doorss like wee are upss here!
Thanks; we have another 10 cm of snow here, with a low tonight of –17C. No warm temperatures predicted for this week, and they’re talking about even more snow this weekend.
Four years! That is pretty sweet! Rhody has been here for only two years. It has been great too, although I sometimes wonder why he does not go live in a better home with people who would take better care of him. I do not ask. Perhaps he does not mind. Besides, he has so many friends here, and I suppose that is a major priority for a dog.
Do you have any uncharacteristic poses?
Thanks; I do have uncharacteristic poses, but they are mostly from my early years. It’s pretty nice here. I am lucky, because the guy I live with doesn’t work, and can spend most of his time with me. And then I get to go play with my friends at Day Care, and he goes to see his friend.
How lovely, Mani, both the happy anniversary and the nature displays! I’m so happy for you and the guy you live with, that you have each other to amuse and annoy and cuddle with. I remember your first adorable puppy picture:) and now you are grown up and noble!
Thanks. I like to think I’m noble. The guy I live with says I’m a big chicken, like all the other purebred border collies who lived here before me.
Happy anniversary. You sure have come a long way from that cuddly little puppy to that noble beast in the black and white glamour shot!
Now about all that snow….
Thanks. I try to be as noble as possible, except where squirrels are concerned. This has been an unbelievably cold winter here. Not low temperatures, but constant cold, with temperatures below normal almost every day for four months.
