Eerie. At first, I thought the car headlights was eye-shine.
That would have been really cool. Those are cars driving in Denver from the mountains, down US 285. I had hoped to get an even spookier film, when the coyotes are more numerous and right outside the back fence, but there’s still time for that.
That’s cooler sounding than they are around me! The various echoing and different tones are a hoot.
Probably one less rabbit in the neighborhood.
Around midnight, eh? Same here a couple of nights ago. By the way would you stop sending your snow all the way east to Ontario! Like clockwork it is. Pass it forward you say? At least you can plant out.
This is revenge, of course. I like Canada and Canadians, a lot, but there seems to be this desperate need to share the air from Northwest Territories and Nunavut with me in winter, and I really don’t feel like sharing.
I can plant out; spring is here, there’s no snow, the wind is up, and it’s beautiful. On Wednesday there will be near record cold temperatures again, and snow. Coming from the west, and going east …..
I hear coyotes at night in the parking lots down by the marina (a block away)….spooky sounding, right in town.
Strangely, did not hear any after that, for the rest of the year, but we know they’re out there. Saw them once or twice.
Inspired: next time I will record them from my window!
One time I was outside when they started, and called my sister on my ancient portable phone, so she could hear it, since the cell phone doesn’t transmit sounds like that very well, and it was a really loud howling, almost right beyond the back fence. Very eerie.
