That iris is insane! (In a good way)

Maaaybe. These things seem to like my garden. So far.
What’s insane is that it didn’t snow this past week up there. Is it December-February, and nobody told me? Seriously, great plant catches…you should see the last plants here erupting! That iris = wow!
Despite all the complaining from yours truly, the snow was very beneficial. It’s evident in the way the garden is responding right now.
Mathew, in The Iris, says Iris stolonifera “occurs in Soviet Central Asia in the Pamir-Alai Range”. I had a friend who, on hearing that “xeriscape” had been trademarked, said he was going to trademark the phrase “the former Soviet Union”…..
