Greetings and salutations, everyone; yes, once again it is I, your popular host, Mani the purebred border collie, here today to bring you a very soggy post. You may remember me from such posts as “Up The Creek”, among so many, many others.
Here I am in a characteristic pose.
It may look cold, but it isn’t. The snow is very slushy.
The guy I live with said to me “We live in soggy times”, though this isn’t normally the case here. But now, things are very soggy indeed.
The snow is melting, and dripping everywhere. It’s supposed to be windy tonight, and maybe that will melt the snow more, making things even soggier, and then it’s supposed to snow for the next for or five days.
There are snowdrops. They may be covered in snow again by this coming weekend, but they’re here now, which is what matters.
These are two different forms of Galanthus graecus. Basically, I guess, these are what used to be called G. elwesii but they have more twisted leaves, and are found in Europe, from Greece to Crimea.

There are other snowdrops in flower, too.
The main reason for this post, though, is pictures of the creek. The guy I live with posted some on Facebook, but I wanted to show the whole series.
We’ve never seen the creek look like this before. Maybe because it rained and there was water in the creek and then ice, which has now collapsed into the creek bed.
It’s pretty cool-looking, I think.

Pretty strange-looking, don’t you think? And yet, photogenic, just like me.
Anyway, that’s my post for today. The guy I live with got a “high wind warning” on his phone for tonight, but that turned out to be for places like Idaho Springs and Evergreen, up in the mountains, which I guess are included in our forecast, because those places aren’t all that far away from here.

Until next time, then.
The creek looks downright crusty, Mani! Beautiful photos. ❄️
Thanks. I went down into the creek, but the ice made weird noises when I walked on it, so I climbed back out.
It was supposed to be windy today but nothing so far.
That creek does look pretty cool. Although we don’t have ice, our snowdrops are also about at the same stage as yours. Probably G. elwesii, but sadly I’ve lost track of who is what. It is nice to see them just the same.
All that ice was gone by day before yesterday, but now it’s snowing. The guy I live with said he feels gloomy.
Graham Stuart Thomas once said that gardeners might not pay attention to snowdrops if they flowered in late spring or summer, but the fact that they flower in winter is very endearing.

The creek did look pretty cool that day.
The guy I live with is now bored by snow, as you’ll find out in my latest post.
