Greetings and salutations, everyone; yes, once again it is I, Mani the purebred border collie, filling in for the guy I live with, and here to bring you up to date on the latest news from our garden. You may remember me from such posts as “Horticultural Invective”, among so many, many others.
Here I am in a characteristic pose. I was moving too fast for the camera. We had what you might call a slight change yesterday, which is still in evidence today.
The guy I live with said this was the first time ever that he welcomed snow, because it’s been so dry. He never got a “snow day” when he was in school, and definitely never got one when he worked for the phone company. The snow should be gone by tomorrow, anyway.
You can see that the new bulb frame is in one of the warmest parts of the yard. I can still lie next to it, to soak up the warmth of the sun on a chilly winter day. The sun here is almost always nice and warm in the winter time. That’s really all I have for today; just a short post to show how things change.
Until next time, then.
Hey, MANI ! Nice ears, YOU BABY! Regards, MAGIC.
Why thank you. I came with these ears, if you didn’t know.
I see already a cleared trail exists to the sunny spot by the newly-built box. Yay for snow elves! I love the pumpkin with snow atop, very seasonal. I hope there is a warm spot inside for you too, dear dog. You are so lucky to have snow. I’m sure you are ecstatic, which is why you were moving so fast for your portrait. Ecstatic usually brings on fast, I’ve noticed.
Thanks; it’s very warm in the house. Even if the back door is almost always open, there are still toasty spots in the house.
There was a squirrel, just today, who expressed an interest in one of the pumpkins, which the guy I live with bought “just to be seasonal”.
The sun, heating up the gravel on the path, does the work for us. It’s supposed to warm up again tomorrow. The way it does, here, as I understand.
